Treatment Options
Laser Therapy
Laser therapy is one of the most effective ways to minimise the appearance of scars. At O’Skin we offer ablative and non-ablative laser options tailored to your specific needs. Depending on the type of laser used, we can target discolouration and irregularities and volume loss in the skin.
Rejuran
Rejuran is a polynucleotide-based treatment that aids in skin regeneration by stimulating cell repair and improving elasticity. It is an excellent option for managing acne scars.
Corticosteroid Injections
For raised scars such as keloids or hypertrophic scars, corticosteroid injections can help reduce inflammation and flatten the scar. This quick, in-office procedure is often used in combination with other treatments, such as laser, to optimise results.
How it Works
Initial Consultation
During your initial consultation, our experienced clinicians will discuss your concerns, goals, and expectations. We will assess your skin and determine the most appropriate treatment for your type of scarring. Our staff then develop a customised plan which will often include a number of different treatments to address scarring. The process of treating scarring can be longwinded and involve multiple visits, practitioners and treatment types. Scarring can never be fully resolved, but we discuss how we can improve the contour of your skin to minimise the appearance of scars. Our goal is to ensure you feel informed and confident about your options, and encourage you to ask questions during the consultation and throughout your treatment journey.
Treatment
Each treatment plan is personalised, but the process may include injections and/or laser therapy. Length of appointments vary depending on the treatment being undertaken, but often last between 30 and 60 minutes. Most procedures involve some degree of discomfort, but we will advise you if topical numbing needs to be applied prior to your appointment.
Aftercare
Proper aftercare is crucial for achieving optimal results. Our clinicians will provide you with detailed post-treatment instructions, which may include using gentle, non-irritating skincare products, avoiding direct sun exposure and applying high-SPF sunscreen.
