Below is a list of links for information about the most common treatments provided to men at O’Skin. We welcome appointments for any concerns you may have.
Skin cancer treatments
Skin cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer, but it is also highly treatable when detected early. Depending on the type, size, location, and stage of the skin cancer, as well as the patient’s overall health, a variety of treatment options are available.
Acne
Acne is a common skin condition characterised by the formation of pustules, blackheads, and cysts, primarily affecting areas with high sebaceous (oil) gland activity. Managing acne involves a comprehensive approach that includes understanding the condition, utilising appropriate skincare products, considering medications, and exploring in-clinic treatments.
Rosacea
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition that can affect individuals at any age.
Characterised by redness, flushing, burning sensations, broken capillaries, and
papules, it often flares in response to triggers such as environmental factors, stress, certain foods and drinks, and skincare products. While rosacea cannot be cured, a multifactorial approach can help manage symptoms effectively.
Broken Capillaries
Broken capillaries, also known as spider veins or telangiectasia, are small, dilated blood vessels that appear near the surface of the skin. These vessels often form web-like patterns and are commonly found on the face around the nose, cheeks, and chin. They can be caused by various factors, including genetics, sun exposure, ageing, rosacea, and minor injuries. While generally harmless, broken capillaries can be a cosmetic concern for many individuals.
Tattoo Removal
Tattoo removal technology has come a long way, and picosecond lasers like PicoWay offer the most advanced, effective, and safe solution available today. Unlike traditional nanosecond lasers, which rely on heat to break down tattoo ink, picosecond lasers use ultra-fast picosecond pulses (one trillionth of a second) to shatter ink into tiny particles. This means Faster ink clearance with fewer sessions, more effective removal of stubborn colours like blues and greens and less heat damage, reducing discomfort and lowering the risk of scarring.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels, also known as enzyme treatments, are a popular treatment designed to improve the appearance of your skin. By applying a specially formulated chemical solution to the skin, a peel can remove damaged outer layers, revealing fresher, smoother, and rejuvenated skin underneath. Chemical peels are effective for a range of skin concerns and can be customised to your specific needs. Gentler peels are safer for sensitive or darker skin to avoid hyperpigmentation and are also a good option for a gentle rejuvenation or maintenance of skin quality. Stronger peels can target more specific concerns such as acne, blocked pores, sun damage, pigmentation and wrinkles. These require more downtime and aftercare. Our dermal therapists will review your skin and skin concerns to choose the right peel for you.
Pigmentation
Pigmentation concerns, including melasma, sunspots, and post-inflammatory
hyperpigmentation, are common skin issues caused by factors such as sun
exposure, hormonal changes, and ageing. A combination of advanced skin care products, chemical peels, and laser treatments can effectively address pigmentation concerns. At O’Skin we offer tailored approaches to ensure safe and optimal results for everyone.
Scarring (including acne scarring)
At O’Skin we specialise in helping individuals manage and reduce the appearance of scars, including acne scarring. Our expert team provides personalised care and advanced treatments to address recent scars and those that have been with you for years.
Benign Skin Lesions
Benign skin lesions, including seborrheic keratoses (seb K), skin tags, milia, and sebaceous hyperplasia, are non-cancerous growths. Although these lesions are not harmful, patients request treatment for aesthetic reasons, or because they cause discomfort. There are various options available to remove or reduce these skin lesions.
